SAE J1670 is the standard of type “F” clamps for plumbing applications. As we know,SAE J1508 already covers type F hose clamps.Why there is another SAE standard?
SAE J1508 covers specifcation of hose clamps,It’s comprehensive standard which include clamps from Group #1 to #6.
SAE J1670 only specify type f clamp and use for plumbing.Materials are limited to 200 series or 300 series austenitic stainless steel.
The dimensions of clamp from these two standards are same.The main difference is durability torque.
Refer to SAE J1670, durability torque is 5.6N*m
Refer to SAE J1508,durability torque is 6.8N*m
